Helen and Joseph Weinfeld first visited Naples in 1954, when it was a “you blink, you miss” kind of town. They loved it, but decided that they could not raise their children in the small town so visibly different from their beloved Philadelphia. They returned in the late 1960’s, after their children had grown, settling not far from Lowdermilk Park , and found themselves in the center of an emerging Jewish Community. Five decades later, Helen is considered to be the very first Naples Jewish Historian.
During 2015 Jewish History Month, Helen shared her experiences with Collier County audiences. (Helen Weinfeld documentary)
