Every year in the month of January Florida celebrates Jewish History Month. This tradition began in 2003 when then governor Jeb Bush approved this important legislature. Jewish Historical Society of SWFL commemorates Florida Jewish History Month annually by putting together important educational and cultural events that reflect and/or intersect with contributions by Jewish people into the development, establishment and subsequent flourishing of the region we cover.
This year, we are bringing out of dust and obscurity the long forgotten, rarely discussed stories of Jewish Confederates. So many noteworthy families of the American South just about 160 years ago had different dreams and plans for their children, and for themselves.Who where they? What made them tick? What happened to them during and after the war between North and South?
Event Date: January 24 from 2 to 4 pm at Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center 4720 Pine Ridge Road, Naples
Suggested Donation to attend $36
